AZAHAR: Tic-tac: watches for people with autism and/or learning difficulties

Within the framework of the AZAHAR project, which is aimed at creating applications for mobile telephones for people with autism, the first result is the TIC-TAC tool.

TIC-TAC has been designed to make it easier to understand and manage the concept of time for people with autism and/or learning difficulties, who may have associated perception and/or sensory problems. It comprises an alternative system of representing time, which has been considered for use:
  • in waiting situations
  • to indicate available leisure time
  • to indicate the time that we have to carry out a task
  • in situations that can produce sensory overload
  • in other situations that are thought to be useful
